Our Mission

Continuing the Legacy

Twelfth generation farmer-owner Jordan Brandon takes pride in continuing his family’s legacy, while focusing on sustainability and growth. To succeed in this mission requires diligent management of the soils, water, and nutrients for crops to flourish year after year.

Our People

The success of this farm is dependent on those who plant, manage, and harvest the crops. While the weather on a farm can be trying and the days long, we strive to provide a satisfying and rewarding environment.

Soil and Water Stewardship

Healthy soil is the foundation of everything we do. We build soil organic matter through cover crops, composting, and careful rotation. Our certified organic practices mean no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides — because healthy soil doesn’t need them.

With over 20,000 feet of streams running through the property, water quality is central to our operation. We maintain riparian buffers, manage drainage carefully, and have restored 50 acres of wetlands that filter runoff before it reaches the James River.

Looking Forward

Twelve generations have farmed this land. We intend to make sure there’s a thirteenth — and a fourteenth. Conservation easements protect over 3,500 acres from development. The farm isn’t going anywhere.
